Africa Spark is governed by an advisory board of researchers, technocrats, and civil-society leaders. Their role is to protect our independence, not to direct our findings.
Independence statement
Africa Spark is an independent, pan-African institution. We determine our own research agenda, publish our own findings, and reach our own recommendations. No funder, partner institution, or government reviews or approves our work before publication.
We disclose our funding in full, and we decline support that would constrain our independence. Editorial decisions at the Africa Spark Review rest with its editors alone. Data published in the Data Bank is governed by clear, public terms, and the Forum sets its own deliberative agenda.
The advisory board safeguards these commitments. It reviews our governance, our funding, and our compliance with the standards we publish for others.

The board comprises seven members drawn from research, public administration, and civil society. Membership is voluntary and unpaid.
